Mehnert says the unique challenge on energy talent includes four things post COVID19:

  • An aging (and now retired) workforce has created critical competency gaps.
  • Gender and ethnic representation lags behind other STEM disciplines.
  • The energy industry (as a whole) does't have a clear and compelling value proposition. (Tech is kicking our pants!)
  • Climate change and sustainability are creating social and financial pressure to drive change.
