The Importance of ERGs in Business Success
 
Marco MartinezMarco Mendoza

Marco is the Director of Vendor Risk Management at CenterPoint Energy. He is responsible for the programs aimed at managing vendor risk via risk assessments and risk mitigations. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Internal Audit leading the Internal Audit function at CenterPoint Energy. In this role, he was responsible for the plan and execution of CenterPoint’s internal audits working closely with Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors. 
 
He is the chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council at CenterPoint Energy with the mission of delivering electricity and natural gas to millions of customers across our communities in a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment where we respect, understand, and appreciate each other, those we serve and the people around us.
 
Marco is passionate about helping the Houston Community with focus on underrepresented groups. He is on the board of the Tejano Center for Community Concerns with a mission to develop education, social, health, and community institutions that empower families to transform their lives. As well as serving on the Finance and Audit Committee of Allies for Hope, formerly Aids Foundation Houston, with the mission of ending the HIV epidemic in the Houston area. Additionally, he serves on the Audit Committee of the Greater Houston Community Foundation.

Robin used her passion for developing people in teaching high school and college math and training astronauts and flight controllers for the International Space Station as a NASA systems instructor/systems integration engineer. At Worley, Robin is serving as a Project Director having worked with projects ranging from $20MM to ~1B TIC.  
With 20+ years of experience, Robin has seen the business from the lens of process lead, project manager, global integrated delivery director, and more. She is known for achieving process improvements through technology. 
Outside of her professional endeavors, Robin enjoys supporting her family and travelling to see the world.  She is actively involved in the community, volunteering with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Girls Inc. Greater Houston, and more!

Xchelsia Jennings is the Global Commercial Digital Executive for the Oilfield Services & Equipment (OFSE) Business Segment at Baker Hughes, where she is responsible for the development and management of the commercial applications ecosystem. 

With over 25 years of experience at Baker Hughes and GE, Xchelsia has held various commercial roles, ranging from Account Management and Commercial Team Leadership to a pivotal role as a Commercial Quality Black Belt. Her expertise in Commercial Process and Governance has earned her significant global roles, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and innovation. 

In addition to her professional achievements, Xchelsia serves as the OFSE Sales & Commercial DE&I Sponsor and is the co-leader of the Black Employee Network (BEN) ERG, highlighting her dedication to advancing diversity and inclusion. 

A proud native of Houston, Texas, Xchelsia holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. She is also a devoted parent of two children, an active community volunteer, and a novice writer. 

 
Caitlin ShawCaitlin Shaw

Caitlin is currently a Research Director for the Lower 48 unconventional research team, responsible for the delivery of in-depth commercial analysis, research and insight covering companies, assets, plays, supply and costs. She works with the Lower 48’s CoE’s to drive consistency, excellence and continual improvement of our processes and deliverables to internal and external clients. Caitlin is also passionate about driving a culture of inclusion, diversity and belonging within her team, across Wood Mackenzie, and beyond.

Before joining the Lower 48 research team in November of 2022, Caitlin spent 17 years looking after the commercial market intelligence offerings focusing on global, deepwater equipment and service supply, demand and cost trends.

Caitlin has been working in the energy industry since 2003. She joined Wood Mackenzie as part of the acquisition of Quest Offshore’s data & subscription business in 2016. She previously worked for a small consulting company in Houston, TX providing customized solutions to increasing reporting efficiencies for oil companies.

Caitlin holds a BS in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston

Joanna Graham began her career in Royal Dutch Shell, spending over 17 years with increasing responsibility in the HR function.  She gained experience in business partnering, labor relations, D,E&I, talent management, recruiting and joint ventures among other challenging and rewarding opportunities.  She then took a promotional opportunity to head the Global Talent Management and Leadership Development group for Seadrill Partners.  She joined Worley, a global provider of professional services in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors, in 2021 with a focus on championing the Energy Transition. She spent her first year as the Director of Talent for the North America Region and was promoted to the Sr. Director of People for the US with responsibility for HR across the country.

With a deep understanding of organizational dynamics, culture change and DEI, Natalia has developed and implemented culture and DEI strategy and initiatives to enhance cultural competence, foster inclusive leadership, and ensure equitable opportunities.  Natalia’s approach to culture building and inclusion is rooted in empathy and a commitment to creating an environment where every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute their best work. Natalia's leadership in culture creation and DEI has not only enhanced employee satisfaction but also driven tangible business outcomes.

Natalia has over 25 years’ experience in the Energy and Manufacturing sectors working in Houston, Trinidad and Tobago, and Australia.  Natalia is now leading an organisation-wide culture change program.  She is a graduate of Queensland University of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a post graduate (Human Resources) of the Institute of Business located in Trinidad.
